Frequently bought together

Frequently bought together adds an “add these together” block to a product page: the product, plus a few companions you pick, shown as a row with the combined price and a single button that drops the lot in the cart. It is the familiar Amazon-style upsell, and a simple way to lift the average order without asking the customer to configure anything.

It is different from a bundle: nothing is configured, the customer just ticks the items they want and adds them in one click. It is a Pro feature.

On any simple product, open the Frequently bought together tab in the product data panel:

  • Tick the box to show the block on that product’s page.
  • Pick the companion products (two to four work best), using the same product search you know from anywhere in WooCommerce.
  • Set an optional discount, a percentage off the companions when they are added through the block. Leave it at 0 for no discount.
Cannot see the tab?

The Frequently bought together tab only appears when the product's type is Simple product. If the Product data dropdown is set to Variable or Bundle, switch it to Simple and the tab returns. Variable-product support is on the roadmap.

Below Add to Cart, a row of the product and its companions joined by a plus sign, each with a tick box. The companions are ticked by default, and the customer can untick any they do not want. A running “Total price” updates as they tick, and one “Add selected to cart” button adds the whole set. If you set a discount, the companions show their saving.

The same offer can resurface in the cart, not only on the product page. A “Complete your order” strip shows the companion products with one-click add and the same discount, on both the classic cart and the WooCommerce Cart block, a second chance to lift the order right before checkout.

  • The block works on simple products with simple companions. Variable-product support is still on the roadmap, and feedback will steer it.
  • The discount applies to the companions added through the block; the main product is added at its normal price.
